Festival delle Scienze di Roma 2022

Astrokids – astronauts for a day How does one prepare to become an astronaut? What soft skills are essential to meet the challenges astronauts face when living and exploring space? How can the brain be trained to be ready in stressful situations or in an extreme environment such as space?

Rover Exploration – (Re)conquering the Moon More than fifty years after the Apollo missions, humanity is preparing to set foot on our satellite, the Moon, and this time to stay there. ESA, which has been at the forefront of human space exploration for years, is ready to take up this challenge. The aim is not to make simple trips, but to stay longer, by building a space base orbiting around the Moon: the Lunar Gateway. From there, it will be possible to send rovers to the surface and control them, program them to perform experiments, and even build a real lunar base. Let’s find out how to control LEGO Mindstorm EV3 rovers to explore faraway places and what challenges we’ll have to complete to get a Space Licence!

Who wants to be an astronaut
Human outposts are important in space exploration; what happens to an astronaut living on a space station? What are the daily routines? How does life in space change?
